CPD Event – July 9 – Galit Sarfaty

We are excited to remind you about the next CPD event, featuring a unique speaker whom you probably don’t run into everyday in your practice.  Many of you had the opportunity to meet Prof. Sarfaty, who attended our last event.  Don’t miss your chance to attend her discussion!

The JLABC is pleased to bring you Galit Sarfaty, Assistant Professor, UBC Faculty of Law, on Tuesday, July 9, at noon.

From http://www.law.ubc.ca/faculty/sarfaty/index.html:

Professor Sarfaty “previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Legal Studies and Business Ethics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. … Her writing is informed by her work experience in a number of organizations, including the World Bank, the International Labor Organization, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and the Indian Law Resource Center.” Professor Sarfaty has recently published a book, Values in Translation: Human Rights and the Culture of the World Bank (Stanford, 2012).

Don’t miss this rare opportunity for a discussion with someone whose experience spans the globe.

This Jewish Lawyers Group event is at noon, and hosted at the offices of Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP, on the 25th floor of the TD Bank building at 700 West Georgia, at the corner of Howe Street.

*** Please note that this event is on a Tuesday, and not Thursday.

Please register by e-mailing Jeremy at jeremy.costin@jlabc.ca, and by sending a cheque for $20, which includes lunch, payable to the “Jewish Lawyers Association of British Columbia,” with the date of the session you plan to attend in the memo field, to:
